John Webbert began his financial planning career in 1990 when he went to work for a local branch of an investment/insurance company. He quickly became disenfranchised watching "advisors" push expensive company insurance products on their clients, rather than provide unbiased advice. After a few months, he left that company and opened his own office, where he felt he could provide the best advice to his clients.
John completed his AA degree in 1975 at Essex Community College, where he was also a 2-sport athlete in soccer and lacrosse. He graduated with his BA in Business/Economics and MBA from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where, as a senior, he was captain for their Division II soccer team.
Upon returning to the Baltimore area and before opening his financial planning office, John was the Transportation and Volunteer Coordinator at the Maryland School for the Blind. His wife, Linda, also worked at MSB as an adapted physical education teacher and athletic director. She also enjoyed many years as an adapted physical education resource teacher team leader for Baltimore County Public Schools before retiring in 2018.
John now enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and photography. Growing up with 10 siblings left an imprint on John's life of the importance of family. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Linda, 2 children, 4 grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews . As a testament to his caring and trustworthy demeanor, he counts most of his family and friends as clients. "If a client is not a friend when they start working with us, they usually are after."
